Castle of le New.
Well nice and early, saved myself a little place on the coach and sat about listening to music. I wrote a bit on the bus:
Behind the cut it is... )
Then we watched the film. It was "The Woodsman" not the Wicca man, as someone had grossly misinformed me. I liked it, I thought it was well shot, even if the content did disturb me a bit. That would usually be a good thing, but it was just the theme not the actual movie that made me uneasy. It was a film about paedophilia, with Kevin Bacon. I thought It was handled well and I'd go so far as to recommend it.
Next was a lecture from one of the directors of the BBFC. It was ok, I was stressed a bit so wasn't really concentrating. What I heard was fairly interesting though. It sounds like an interesting job at least.
Quickly escaping the lecture during the final question; "Do you know in Baby's Day Out?" (I wonder why I ran) me and the Saffster headed to Boots to get a sandwich. Too lazy to set out for an elusive sandwich shop, which we couldn't find anywhere. We both got Red onion and Cheddar, it was nice, but bloody dry. Then we went into an independent record shop, which was actually fairly priced. Saff failed to notice the wall was bedecked with posters of her beloved Elliot Smith, but I duely noted that my singer songwriter of choice, Damien Rice had a sizeable section of posters from the Volcano vinyl (which I tried to buy, but couldn't track down). We spent a fair while in there, and I raided the "free-box" and got me some "We are scientists" stickers. Then we wandered some more, spent ages in Virgin megastore, I bought "O" for £4.99. Ridiculously cheap that mind, but I felt at ease with lining Damien's pockets for him. I also fell in love with the packaging for "Takk.." so I'm going to scout around and purchase that for any cheaper. Then we went to Starbucks. It said Herbie Hancock - Possibilities was playing, but it blatantly wasn't so I got my coffee (Coffee blend frappucino of the caramel variety) to take out. We sat on the monument steps and chatted. Saw Babs ninja into Waterstones, and I watched a really pretty Uni student do some English lit work. Then just wandered back and stood having a chat with Rach, who managed to spend £200 in an hour, which I was impressed with, until she showed me her Topshop bags and I realised she'd probably only bought a top and a scarf.
I filmed some stuff on the way back, I'll probably post it up here. I liked my wind farm shot :) Had a chat with Babs, she is a huge Damien Rice geek so we had a bit of a blab. She told me to watch "Closer" so I will. Anyway I'm off to go clean, I think Fran and Kim are coming over to watch Garden State. :) x

[ music | Joseph Arthur - Can't Exist (Live at the Georgian) ]

In other news. My cyst has gotten rather large and painful. I can't complain though really, because I don't want it removed! I do miss sleeping on my right hand side though. I'm getting a bit worried about it, but children; this is neither the time, nor the place.

[ music | Pete Yorn - Girl Like You ]

Today doesn't look promising. The idea was to sleep as long as possible today, but after fucking up my sleep patterns with a Tom Hanks induced coma, and staying up until 4am, I got up an hour ago. The redeemer of my day so far has been some hot buttered english muffins, I think I prefer them to anything else in the world, Sex, a good book, other peoples company...Yeah, I think the muffin takes the crown. I don't think I'll do anything today, except maybe shower, because I feel disgusting. I'm loving a bit of Pete Yorn today, I'm going to get his album I think. I also want to know why It's human nature to put up with adequacy? Half the time we don't even realise, I'm starting to twig on, and I don't like that I've put up with shit for so long. I might go write some more, but I think I'm a bit too...hmm, "blank" to write. Oh well..
